The Tea for Two design has to be one of the most useful and versatile patterns I have ever created. These designs started as rather an experiment and were then put away into the depths of my filing system. I had done a mock up photo and added it to Instagram and this was found by quite a few people who started to ask for a sample. The photo I had added was a digital mock up so not the real thing! I decided to go ahead and have some samples printed, they arrived and I hung them up in my studio as I always do with samples just to get used to them and see what they look like from a distance. I wasn’t too sure and thought they might be too colourful so I hide them under my table. A week later I have three lots of people coming to see me for decorating advice and to look at my fabrics. Both of them found the samples and loved them! I showed my twin sister who is always very honest when it comes to my designs and she loved them too! I thought Oh well I might as well carry on with these designs and decided to make a mini summer collection out of them. Some of them were meant to go with the next collection I have coming out but I had too many patterns in this collection so that is one reason why they weren’t included. It always amazes me how I work out what to include and what not!
